What Housecall Pro does that BidRise does not
Housecall Pro is field service management software. Among other things it covers scheduling and dispatch, invoicing and payment collection, customer records, and job management across a team. BidRise doesn’t do any of that, and there’s no plan here to pretend otherwise.
If your shop runs on a dispatch board, takes card payments through the app, or depends on the customer history living in one place, replacing it with BidRise would leave real holes in your day.
What BidRise does
- You talk through the job on site and it writes the line items.
- It prices from your own price book, with your markup and tax.
- It builds good, better and best options if you want them.
- The customer signs on their phone, and the signature is recorded with time and IP.
- It flags estimates that have gone quiet so you chase the winnable ones.
It doesn’t do takeoffs from plans, carry a parts catalog, or pull live supply house pricing.
When swapping makes sense
For a one to ten truck residential shop whose actual bottleneck is writing estimates at nine at night, and who schedules out of a phone and a calendar rather than a dispatch board. If the platform is mostly being paid for so that estimates can be sent, a tool that only does estimates can be a simpler fit.
When it does not
If you dispatch several crews a day, run recurring maintenance agreements, or take payment in the field, stay where you are. Those are real features and BidRise has none of them.
Using both
Plenty of shops would rather keep the platform and change only the estimating. There’s a Housecall Pro connection in BidRise today, but it’s a connect-only beta: you can link the account, and automatic sync of signed bids is still being verified, so it’s not something to depend on for live jobs yet. The Jobber and HubSpot connections are live if you happen to use either of those, and there’s more detail on the Jobber comparison.
Try it next to what you have
Thirty days free, no card. Write a few estimates with it on real jobs and keep running your schedule wherever you run it now. That’s a cheaper way to find out than a migration.
BidRise isn’t affiliated with Housecall Pro. Product capabilities change, so check their current documentation before making a decision.
